Waldorf School Holiday!

We’re getting ready for the Waldorf Holiday Fair tomorrow and Saturday. Mike’s upstairs in his studio giving a final polish to some new pieces, and I’ve spent much of the day at the sewing machine with pirates, owls and Matryoshka dolls for company. We all have so much fun at the Waldorf Fair. I love the Waldorf Philosophy and try to incorporate parts of it into my daily life with L. Some of my favorite people grew up in the Waldorf education and they seem to take such a joyful, natural approach to learning. The school itself is so lovely and it’s a very fun time, with so many wonderful vendors and natural children’s activities all day. I’m especially looking forward to seeing the felted doll ornament maker, and finding a lovely one for our tree. Also the “puzzle lady” who had no online presence unfortunately. She has a pedal powered saw and makes wooden puzzles  before your very eyes! Last year we got L’s hand traced in puzzle form and a few others with sweet Elsa Beskow illustrations. We’re really looking forward to this weekend full of fun (and honey sticks) hope to see some of you there!

Looking forward to the weekend!

Wow, what a roller-coaster of a week, and it’s not over yet. We survived Sandy with the most minimal of leaks, and lots of home cooking and pie baking and looking at storm footage on the computer. The cold front hit, and we feel very blessed that we can turn our heat on when we want to. Our families are and friends who were in the path of the storm are ok. We have friends who weren’t so lucky, a good place to donate money to one family is here and if you live in Philly,  West Philadelphia Coop School 4625 Baltimore Ave is having a clothing & goods drop off tomorrow from 1-3pm, that will go directly to NYC hurricane victims. Then of course the weather changed and it was Halloween! L was a cookie delivering pirate,  and had as much (if not more) fun giving out candy then the actual trick or treating.

This Sunday is the last Clover Market of the season. We’re thrilled to be participating again and have many new designs and flavors for all of you holiday shopping needs. Yes, it’s that time again. We’re #76, same place as last time and what a nice place it was, hope to see you there!I know there are a few “moments” in here as well as some plugs for things but these first pictures really sum up “savoring and remembering”!

two shows, one weekend… thats right!

After a fantastic time vending at GO WEST! thank you,  thank you to everyone who came, vended and performed (there’s a fuller thank you with loads of pictures on the blog), we’re headed into a crazy two fairs, one weekend event. I’ll be vending on Saturday at The Suburu Fall Festival at Greensgrow Farms in Fishtown from 11-4 and Mike will be at the Old City Seaport Festival at Penns Landing in front of the Seaport Museum on Saturday & Sunday10-5. Can we do it? Who knows… cue the clown car music! All kidding aside though we think it’s going to be really fun. I love Greensgrow and being a part of their festivals. While we’re Clark Park Farmers Market shoppers because of where we live, I love seeing (and eating) what other farmers markets have! And then of course the Seaport Museum is another thing we love and value so much! If you’ve never been there I highly recommend it (maybe at this festival). The Seaport Fest has a ticket price where you have full admission to the museum, boats, all of the wonderful entertainment, and of course vendors. We’re excited about the pirate battle at the end of the day on Sunday! Hope to see some of you at one or even both of these cool and different events.
