Spring Vending!

daffodilsWe’re thinking about spring weather, around these parts things are a little chilly. With the flowers blooming you can’t help but notice spring is on the way! With Spring comes one of our busy seasons, with a fair almost every weekend. Here’s a preview of them all, we hope you can make it to some of them! They’re all a little different, and unique. GO WEST! Craft Fest of course is our baby so I can’t help but hope you’ll come to that with jugglers and an aerialist performance, what more can you ask (other than all the cool handmade goods you’ll find). Without further adieu….

Berlin Flea Market Style

hot chocolateHappy New Year everyone! I’ve been away from this space for a minute or 2 or 3, trying to savor some internet free time and the last of the holidays. We’re back home now from the wonderful Island where we spent New Years with our friends and since it was Saturday once again Mike headed off to his favorite (somewhat) local Berlin flea market. We enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather in the park and sat outside at a cafe! hot chocolate089103We had a great surprise when Mike got home with a 1960s pram. 119pram jan 13We’re not quite sure what to do with it yet (other than ride L around town), and will for the moment just have to add it to our collection… yes I said collection. There were some new to us plates too. birdhouse platebw flower plateI’m sure the dancing ladies are going to be a big hit!  We’ll put at least one up on Etsy. dancing girl plateWhat a nice Saturday, hope your weekend was lovely too!

GO WEST! *holiday* Craft Fest this weekend!

We’re getting so excited for this weekend. Our holiday Fest is almost here and we’ve been so busy making and promoting, not to mention doing that for all the other fairs this season! This one is our baby though, and feels really special. It’s our 3rd year of having a holiday fair at The Rotunda. The first was Second Saturdays (anyone remember that?) then we transformed into GO WEST! They’ve all been really fun and busy, with great local vendors and a terrific crowd. I hope for nothing less this year, once again we have an awesome line up of vendors, many who have been there from the start, and some very first timers too. We also have food (and coffee) from Black Orchid, treats & pops from the Lil Pop Shop and ice cream from the debuting West Philly company Weckerleys!

Check out our pintrest page for a sneak peek at some of the wares that will be there. Also the complete listing of the vendors is here on our blog. I can’t wait to see everyone there and am anticipating a busy and fun filled day! There will be handmade holiday gifts for pretty much everyone.

Waldorf School Holiday!

We’re getting ready for the Waldorf Holiday Fair tomorrow and Saturday. Mike’s upstairs in his studio giving a final polish to some new pieces, and I’ve spent much of the day at the sewing machine with pirates, owls and Matryoshka dolls for company. We all have so much fun at the Waldorf Fair. I love the Waldorf Philosophy and try to incorporate parts of it into my daily life with L. Some of my favorite people grew up in the Waldorf education and they seem to take such a joyful, natural approach to learning. The school itself is so lovely and it’s a very fun time, with so many wonderful vendors and natural children’s activities all day. I’m especially looking forward to seeing the felted doll ornament maker, and finding a lovely one for our tree. Also the “puzzle lady” who had no online presence unfortunately. She has a pedal powered saw and makes wooden puzzles  before your very eyes! Last year we got L’s hand traced in puzzle form and a few others with sweet Elsa Beskow illustrations. We’re really looking forward to this weekend full of fun (and honey sticks) hope to see some of you there!

Late Fall Vending

Our last outside fair of 2012 was Clover Market this past weekend. It was fun (and quite chilly) making me thankful for all the indoor markets of the upcoming holiday season.  I took some pictures of favorites of this last Market but unfortunately my phone (and new found love of instagram) are not cooperating tonight. Here’s a look at our stand though, if you’ve never been,  some pictures of the always work in progress that it is.  Now to scaled down spaces of the indoor winter. One of my favorites is coming up next weekend, The Waldorf School Holiday Fair , where once again, I try not to buy as much as I sell. Happy weekend to you all and I hope to see some of you family types there!

Looking forward to the weekend!

Wow, what a roller-coaster of a week, and it’s not over yet. We survived Sandy with the most minimal of leaks, and lots of home cooking and pie baking and looking at storm footage on the computer. The cold front hit, and we feel very blessed that we can turn our heat on when we want to. Our families are and friends who were in the path of the storm are ok. We have friends who weren’t so lucky, a good place to donate money to one family is here and if you live in Philly,  West Philadelphia Coop School 4625 Baltimore Ave is having a clothing & goods drop off tomorrow from 1-3pm, that will go directly to NYC hurricane victims. Then of course the weather changed and it was Halloween! L was a cookie delivering pirate,  and had as much (if not more) fun giving out candy then the actual trick or treating.

This Sunday is the last Clover Market of the season. We’re thrilled to be participating again and have many new designs and flavors for all of you holiday shopping needs. Yes, it’s that time again. We’re #76, same place as last time and what a nice place it was, hope to see you there!I know there are a few “moments” in here as well as some plugs for things but these first pictures really sum up “savoring and remembering”!
